Harold Zegart (1925-2012) was a Bay Area artist since 1948.He studied at The Institute of Design in Chicago with Moholy-Nagy and Man Ray. He worked in UC Berkeley’s Photography Dept., and in 1949-50 studied with Minor White and Ansel Adams at The California School Of Fine Arts (now the San Francisco Art Institute), where many of his peers and lifelong friends, such as Ira LaTour, David Johnson and Bill Heick excelled at their craft, documented in the book “The Golden Decade”. He has exhibited nationally and is in collections like The National Museum of American Art, Smithsonian, and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
