The Japanese-American photographer, Ishimoto studied photography at the Chicago Institute of Design with Callahan and Siskind after WWII. After graduating he spend time in Japan, eventually returning to Chicago where he focused on street photography. The photographs from this time, as well as the one offered here, were reproduced in his photobook Chicago, Chicago, which was published in 1969. Since then he has been a citizen of Japan where he has been a professor of photography and active with both commercial commissions and his own studies. [Not a valid template]
